Cancellation & Refund Policy

1. Platform Role (Important)

8thAve.ca is a discovery and scheduling platform designed to connect visitors with places, services, and events.

We do not operate, manage, or deliver events, services, or appointments listed on the platform.

All services, events, cancellations, refunds, and fulfillment related to customer bookings are the sole responsibility of the listing owner or event organizer.


2. Places & Appointments

Appointments (No Online Payments)

Appointments listed on 8thAve.ca are offered as appointment requests only.

  • 8thAve.ca does not process online payments for appointments
  • Appointment requests are subject to confirmation by the service provider
  • All payments (if any) are handled directly between the customer and the business

In all cases:

  • Cancellation, rescheduling, and missed-appointment (no-show) policies are defined and enforced by the business
  • Any refunds, credits, or charges are handled directly by the service provider
  • 8thAve.ca is not involved in appointment payments, refunds, or related communications

8thAve.ca does not approve, deny, issue, or manage refunds for appointments.


3. Events & Ticket Sales

Event Responsibility

Event organizers are fully responsible for:

  • Event delivery
  • Attendance
  • Scheduling
  • Cancellations
  • Refunds

8thAve.ca does not guarantee that an event will take place.


Ticket Refunds

Refund eligibility is determined solely by the event organizer’s stated policy.

Events may be refundable, partially refundable, or non-refundable, as defined by the organizer.

Customers are responsible for reviewing event details and refund terms before purchasing tickets.


Event Cancellations

If an event is cancelled by the organizer:

  • The organizer is solely responsible for determining refund eligibility
  • Any refunds, if offered, are handled in accordance with the organizer’s stated policy and the applicable payment provider’s rules

Processing Fees (Important)

When ticket refunds are issued, payment processing fees charged by the payment provider (currently 2.9% + $0.30 per ticket) are non-refundable and remain the responsibility of the event organizer.

These fees are deducted by the payment processor and are not retained, refunded, or controlled by 8thAve.ca.


Notes:

  • 8thAve.ca does not issue or manage ticket refunds
  • Platform service fees and payment processing fees may be non-refundable
  • 8thAve.ca is not responsible for travel costs, accommodations, or other expenses incurred by attendees

4. Owner Listings, Event Packages & Platform Fees

Listing & Package Cancellations (Owners)

Listing packages, event packages, subscriptions, and platform-related fees purchased by listing owners or event organizers are non-refundable, unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase or required by law.

If an owner cancels, downgrades, or discontinues a listing or event package:

  • The listing or event remains active until the end of the current billing or package period
  • No partial refunds, prorated credits, or retroactive adjustments are issued
  • Any promotional placements, homepage features, or platform benefits included with the package are forfeited

Deleting a listing, cancelling an event, or disabling a feature does not automatically entitle the owner to a refund.


5. Disputes

Customers are encouraged to contact the listing owner or event organizer directly for any issues related to cancellations, refunds, or service fulfillment.

8thAve.ca does not mediate disputes, make refund determinations, or enforce cancellation policies. The platform may provide basic booking or transaction information for reference purposes only.
